Bring the hip recovery plan into the rooms you use every day.

OHH helps eligible patients practice their individual precautions, movements, and daily routines where those instructions must work—at home.

Your instructions are individual.

Hip precautions can differ by procedure and surgeon. OHH does not substitute a generic checklist for the plan. Clinicians teach and practice the instructions ordered for the patient.

Care in the rooms you use

  • Walking, transfers, balance, strength, and the assigned exercise plan.
  • Bathing, dressing, bathroom routines, and adaptive techniques.
  • Skilled assessment, medication teaching, and ordered wound care.
  • Coordination with the physician and the rest of the home health team.

Make the first days easier

Clear walking routes, use a stable chair, and keep daily items within reach. Follow the surgical team's equipment guidance. Write questions down so they are ready for the next visit.

Know when to call

The team follows the ordered goals and watches how the patient responds. Ask which symptoms go to the home health team, which go to the surgeon, and which require urgent care.

Call before discharge to ask about care.

Call weekdays 8:00am–5:00pm. We'll call you back the next business day.
